Dr. R.C. Sproul is one of the most respected theologians in the body today, and while I do not share his Calvinist views, I recognize his deep love for the Word and his ability to interest other believers in the pursuit of divine truth.

Interestingly, Dr. Sproul says he was “deeply immersed” in charismatic circles in the 1960s and that after receiving about 40 to 50 false prophecies—according to his report, they were specificprophecies with specific dates and details that never came to pass—he said to himself, “You know, I’m going to live my life by what it says in the Word, because I know the Spirit has superintended that. And somebody else can…

‘Turbo’ Drives Home Positive Life Lessons With High-Octane Underdog Tale.

Rivers of Hope

'Turbo' opened July 17.
Turbo‘ opened July 17.

Forget about the little engine, this is about the little snail that could.

Forget about reality also, as Turbo tells the impossible-to-believe tale of an everyday garden snail who wants to achieve his biggest dream—win the Indianapolis 500. The 3-D comedy’s premise may be farfetched, but DreamWorks Animation’s latest toon is family friendly, offering lots of fun and excitement for kids and adults alike.

It also borrows its underdog story somewhat from Pixar’s Ratatouille, in which Remy the rat dreams of becoming a chef. But Turbo is endearing, winsome and “better fast than furious”—as its tagline touts.

Toiling at the tomato plant by day with his older brother Chet (voiced by Paul Giamatti), Theo/Turbo (Ryan Reynolds) spends all his non-working time watching VHS tapes of his idol, French racing champ Guy Gagné (Bill Hader).

“The sooner you accept the dull, miserable nature…

Zombies, Vampires: Dark Themes Invade Christian Homes.

Rivers of Hope

Vampire Diaries, Walking Dead
In today’s entertainment industry, tales of blood-sucking lovers and brain-eating corpses are big business. Hit shows ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ (top) and ‘The Walking Dead‘ (bottom) are just two examples.

A zombie invasion and a vampire love triangle. These are the themes of two hit television dramas, AMC’s The Walking Dead and CW‘s The Vampire Diaries.

In today’s entertainment industry, tales of blood-sucking lovers and brain-eating corpses are big business. From Twilight, a best-selling series of books and movies focusing on vampires, to Warm Bodies, a recent film about a teen zombie in love, it seems many consumers can’t get enough of the creepy and macabre.

The undead genre, as it is sometimes called, is wildly popular among adolescents and young adults. Some national bookstore chains have entire sections devoted to “teen paranormal romance,” featuring such titles as Boys That Bite

Passing on the Joy

Live to Write - Write to Live

I am moderating a panel this fall at the at New England Crime Bake. It is entitled “High School Murder: Writing the Young Adult Mystery”. My panelists are Beth Kanell, Peter Abrahams, Kate Burak, and Kim Harrington. YA is a very popular sub-genre of mysteries right now, and I am so pleased that it will be a panel at the conference. I bought the books, and look forward to reading them all this summer in preparation.

sord1small1_bw2tBecause of this reading list and the genre, my nieces and nephews are benefiting from their aunt’s homework. My sister called me one night to tell me that B. spent two hours reading. The next day the reader herself called me, and let me know how much she loved Kim Harrington’s first book in the Sleuth or Dare series. She was thrilled that there are two more books in the series. And she…

How to use Trial Version Forever without Expiration(Trail Version Software Cracking)

NewGenITTEchnology

Ever wondered that ‘how to install trial version again?‘ or even better than that like ‘how to use a trial version forever?‘ or ‘How to stop trial time?‘

Download any Trial software and use it for unlimited time. You can use any software forever without expiration you want. You can download trial version, right. Trial version expires after some days. You can stop that expiration. You can tell trial version of the software to not count days or do not bother about time. The software will stay and keep working like original software forever and will not expire or cease to work. You do not have to change your system clock. This little software does the trick.

Time Stopper is the software which can stop the time for try out version software. When you stop the time you can use your try-out software forever. When you stop the time of…

Zimmerman Juror: Race Played No Role.

Rivers of Hope

In the first vote of the jury in the George Zimmerman murder trial, three voted not guilty, two voted manslaughter and one voted second-degree murder, but none of the jurors believed race played a role in the incident, a juror said on CNN Monday.

“I think his heart was in the right place, but it just went terribly wrong,” Juror B-37 said on CNN’sAnderson Cooper 360″ Monday night.

Five of the six jurors believed it was Zimmerman’s voice screaming for help on the 911 recordings played in his murder trial, Juror B-37 said. The sixth juror wasn’t necessarily positive the shooting victim, Trayvon Martin, was making the pleas, but she simply wasn’t sure, the juror told Cooper.

The woman appeared in silhouette and her name was not used on the news show, but her voice was not noticeably distorted.

She told Cooper she found the original…
